This project was a school issued one. The basis of the project was redesigning a logo for a predetermined company, which in this case was Múrbúðin. There were quite alot of issues with the original logo — The overall design was outdated and had little to nothing to do with it's industry, the colours did not align to it's industry and when I reached out to them, none seemed to have any information about the logo.
The goal became clear, — I had to create a modern logo that aligned with it's industry, but still had ties to its roots.

Logo
The first letter of the company, aswell as a bricklayer's trowel was used as the primary design element to convey the purpose of the company.

Text
Gilroy black replaced the original font.

Colour
During the research phase, i found out Múrbúðin was created by a company called Gólflagnir, — which is where the original logo got it's colours from. I decided to keep the colour palatte to keep the logo connected to it's roots. Although I did change the values of the red to align the logo with bricks.

Results
The design came together tastefully. The new logo proposition is modern, and yet holds on to the company's roots and aligns with it's industry.
